Ingredients
1 bag (16 oz) cavatappi pasta
 1 lb ground beef
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (or other mild flavored oil)
 1 medium onion, finely diced
 5 cloves of garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
 1 tsp garlic powder
 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
 parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions
1

Cook pasta according to instructions on the bag. Stop cooking ~1 minute less than instructed so the pasta is a little al dente. Once the water is boiling, I recommend starting to cook the pasta around when you stir in the crushed tomatoes in the other pan.

2

Meanwhile, in a large skillet or pan with deep sides, heat the oil up on medium heat and add in the onions and garlic. Cook until fragrant and onions are starting to turn translucent (~5 minutes). Careful to not burn the garlic.

3

Add in the ground beef and cook until mostly brown while breaking it up with your spatula (~4-5 minutes). Try not to break up the meat too finely, we want some bite size pieces of meat! Season with ~1 tsp of salt and ~1/2-1 tsp of freshly ground black pepper.

4

Stir in the crushed tomatoes. Then, add in the Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder. Combine evenly and bring to a low simmer for ~5 minutes.

5

Right before adding the drained pasta to the sauce, turn the heat down to low and add in the cheese to the sauce one cup at a time, stirring continuously so no clumps form.

6

Once all the cheese has melted, add in the pasta. Stir and mix until evenly distributed and most of the sauce has thickened and soaked into the pasta. Once thickened to your desired consistency, top with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
